King Simeon and Family in Assisi

King Simeon was in Assisi to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the death of his mother Queen Giovanna on February 26th.

On this occasion, the King and Queen, accompanied by the niece of King Simeon Princess Alexandra-Nadejda and her family, prayed at the tomb of Queen Giovanna after Mass officiated at the Basilica of Saint Francis. 

Queen Giovanna according to her last wishes was buried in great simplicity at the local cemetery surrounded by franciscan monks.
